I have had an avid interest in photography since my mother placed a Canon A-1 into my hands years ago during my college years. My first digital camera was an Apple QuickTake 150 purchased in the early 1990s directly from Apple with the assistance (and discount!) of then Apple Evangelist, Guy Kawasaki. I didn't consider digital SLRs within my reach until 2006, and since then I've been unleashed and the battle wages daily between me and photo library attempting to attain exponential growth.
Over the past 10-12 years, the majority of my photographic work has been in event photography. This has been mostly associated with horse shows and ultrarunning events. While my primary field of employment over the past ten years has been as an appraiser and a data analyst in the mass appraisal of real estate, my love for photography and running, specifically ultrarunning, has led me to serve as the photographer for a very unique ultrarunning event in the region over the past seven years, Badwater Cape Fear. Each year, thanks to Chris Kostman of AdventureCORPS, I am available to assist with the event or support the runners from race start until the final runner crosses the finish line. In 2021 I had the honor of traveling to Death Valley, California and being on the photographer team for Badwater 135.
My dream is that once I cross into my retirement years, I will be able to travel more widely and use my skills and capabilities to serve more participants of ultrarunning events with my photography and graphics/desktop publishing skills.
Connected to every moment,
Are unique beams of light,
Each one special,
Each carrying forth a little piece of time,
Like the individual moments of your life,
We catch and save them.
Have We Caught Yours?
